Biotheraputic Drainage
Biotheraputic Drainage is a system that uses a combination of therapies to support our bodies’ ability to detoxify and eliminate properly. This system is very different from a ‘detox program’. Through the use of a type of herbal medicine called Gemmotherapy, specific types of homeopathy, hydrotherapy, and other therapies we can support and improve organ function and bring back into balance systems of our bodies such as neurologic, digestive, immune, etc. This system also allows the eliminative systems of our bodies to drain toxins properly, and not in a way that can overwhelm the natural healing process.
There are many things our bodies have to get rid of: toxins, cellular waste products, impurities in food, hormones, chemicals made in the body, and chemicals which come into the body from the environment. We have systems to process and eliminate these compounds (this is sometimes referred to as detoxification), primarily the liver and digestive tract, and the kidneys. Secondarily, the skin, lungs, and other organs can assist in the processing and elimination of these compounds. In our modern society, there are more and more compounds our bodies need to deal with and they either overburden the eliminative systems, or interfere with their proper functioning. As these compounds build up in our bodies, our eliminative function is so hampered that our bodies have to either try to get rid of these compounds through other means, or try to store them in different areas of our bodies. We experience this as symptoms. They can manifest as such things as allergies, insomnia, IBS, indigestion, joint pain, arthritis, asthma, infertility, menstrual irregularities, prostate problems, etc. They can also lead to more serious illnesses such as autoimmune disease, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, etc.
With naturopathic means, such as Biotheraputic Drainage and others, we can reverse this process. We focus both on reducing the toxins and other compounds that come into our bodies, improve the ability of our bodies to process the toxins and other compounds, and most importantly, process and get rid of the built-up toxins that are already in our bodies that are causing the problems in the first place.
This system is not a one size fits all type of program. It is highly individualized, supports the whole body, and gets to the root cause of the problems. Because of this, it can be tailored to be gentle enough or strong enough to match the constitution and age of any individual we want to work with.
