Dr. James Prego is a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine. He graduated from SUNY Stony Brook with a Bachelors of Science in Biology. Soon after, he discovered the field of natural medicine. He received his degree from Bastyr University, in Kenmore Washington. Bastyr University a fully accredited 4-year Naturopathic medical school and a leading institute in research of natural therapies. Dr. Prego is a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians and a member of the New York Association of Naturopathic Physicians.

Dr. Prego sees patients at the Advantage Wellness Center in East Islip, NY, and volunteers at the Holistic Health Clinic in Bay Shore, NY. Dr. Prego also serves as secretary and a board member of the NYANP. He specializes in Family Medicine, and assists with most chronic and acute conditions, such as digestive complaints, allergies, menstrual problems, and colds/flu. Dr. Prego makes recommendations regarding the use of therapeutic nutrition, botanical medicine, physical medicine and dietary and lifestyle counseling. For more information, see the services page.

Dr. Prego is licensed as a Naturopathic Doctor in Washington State. In New York, there is currently no license for NDs, although there is currently a bill being introduced in the state congress.
