The following are testimonials from Dr. Prego's patients:
“I enjoy being a patient of Dr. Prego's because I feel as if I am working with him as opposed to simply being told what I need to do to take care of myself. I feel that I have learned so much about my body and how it responds to my diet, emotions, and physical environment. I now see my body as more than an aspect of my life that I need to take care of; I realize that the health of my body mirrors my overall well being. Furthermore, Dr. Prego also provides plenty of methods and exercises that I can use in lieu of taking medication. As a result, I only go to my family doctor when I feel it's absolutely necessary. Dr. Prego + Discipline + Positive Attitude = Results!"

“When I came to Dr. Prego, my biggest complaint was headaches that I was getting almost every night of the week. I really didn't have any idea what was causing them, and assumed it was stress. I also suffered from constipation and fatigue. Dr. Prego listened to my list of complaints and on my second visit, had a plan for me to follow. He gave me a few supplements to take, and a few sheets of life style and dietary modifications he thought would be helpful. I began the regimen immediately. After about two weeks, my boyfriend asked me when the last time I had had a headache was, and I realized, I hadn't had one since starting the regimen. It hadn't even occurred to me. My bowel movements had steadily become normal, and I was finding I had more energy in the mornings and evenings that I had in a long time. I'm so pleased with the results that I have seen with Dr. Prego and would definitely recommend him to anyone who wants to explore the naturopathinc route."

“My parental journey to holistic medicine It probably all started around the time my son was three. He would get bronchitis every year, swollen glands, fever, cough. Every year my pediatrician gave him antibiotics and albuterol. One year even giving him an inhaler for his ‘asthma’. “Asthma?” I never heard them mention asthma before. This was new. Was it an assumption? A guess? Reality? I didn’t know.
When Kenny was three, he did get a pretty bad case of bronchitis. The Dr. wanted me to give him albuterol. So I did. About a half hour after taking his medication (and Kenny always took anything we gave him) he came to me and stated “Mommy…. I don’t like the way this makes me feel” That was the last time he ever received that.
Each year that passed Kenny still did get bronchitis and they would still give me the medicine. Only difference is that I did not give it to him. I started searching for another way, a better way to help my son feel his best and hopefully not get sick, and if he did I needed a better way to heal him. The thing with Kenny is that he only came down with sickness anywhere from November through March, the same symptoms each and every year. So I started to think that there was something more to this than I knew.
Finally I found a book, Smart medicine for a healthier child. It led me down the path that finally brought me to see Dr. Prego. The book follows different modalities of treating the same illness, conventional, holistic, nutrition, homeopathy, etc. I began to seek nutritional ways to heal our bodies. Not knowing all there is to know, I searched and found Dr. Prego.
Our first meeting was over an hour and a half. That was not waiting room time or waiting in the room time. That was actual one on one time. He had me start from the beginning, my pregnancy and worked his way all the way to where we were then, at age 9. Each question were questions my pediatrician has never asked yet made sense that they would need to know.
We followed an elimination diet with Kenny and that proved to be inconclusive (and a little hard but we did it). Dr. Prego made me feel like part of the team, instead of just being handed scripts and a ‘good day’. He explained what the regimen would be and what vitamins we needed to boost his immune system. Kenny hadn’t gotten sick that year for the first time. He didn’t get sick the second year either. Year three Kenny came down with swollen glands, fever, cough. BUT this time it was different. Instead of medication and drugs, we worked on more vitamins, healthy foods, and time. It didn’t take Kenny any longer to recover as it did when he received all those meds. One big difference is that Kenny didn’t feel ‘sick’ or ‘bad’ from natural remedies. The sequence of events were exactly the same and if anything, Kenny responded to the natural treatments with a decreased intensity of sickness. He just got over it. Just like our bodies are supposed to. He does get sick less often but when he does, even he says “Hey mom I need more vitamins I am not feeling well” That is something I could live with.
As a parent, I feel more in control, and involved with the care of my son with Dr. Prego. Seeing a naturalpath means feeling heard. I know in my heart of hearts that I am teaching my son how to care for and trust his own body."
